Poem: Indoctrination
Sister, it is not your fault
that you shelter shame in your stomach
that slime of guilt secreted
by slithering eel.
It is not your fault
that you preach psychiatry as sorcery
pills as pagan seeds
whose roots puncture passage
corrupting cerebrum.
It is not your fault
that you worry and worship
the culling of black sun and blood river
teeth that gnash and eyes that weep.
It is not your fault
that the mirror reflects wriggling worms,
the cumulus wool of a bleating lamb.
If you were to let me wipe it clean
you would see a lion.
